The Issue: The Forest Service has conducted an environmental analysis of oil and gas leasing in the Wyoming Range of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. A draft supplemental environmental impact statement (DSEIS) is now available online at the Bridger-Teton National Forest website at http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/nepa_projects?forest=110403. The Draft Supplement discloses analysis of significant new information that was not available for previous leasing decisions for the area.

Background: The DSEIS contains a no action/no lease alternative as well as several action alternatives. The review and comment period provides those interested in or affected by the proposed action an opportunity to express their concerns prior to a decision being made. Those who provide timely comments will be eligible to appeal the decision pursuant to the Forest Service Notice, Comment and Appeal Procedures at 36 CFR Part 215.

Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments will be accepted for 45 calendar days following publication of notice in the Federal Register. The publication date and Notice of Availability in the Federal Register is the exclusive means for calculating the comment period for this proposal.
